Tune In!

How will you baby every learn about the world if you’re not part of it?

Think about it

What does your baby like to see, hear, or do?

How do babies learn what they are seeing, doing, or feeling?

How can I bond more with my baby?

so much more

Tuning in strengthens bonds, builds relationships, and keeps children motivated and engaged. Get into your child’s world, get down on her level, and see what she sees. Participate in what she’s doing.

Here is what you can do

  • When your baby brings you a toy, talk/sign/fingerspell about the toy as you play with your baby.

  • Get down on your baby’s level so you can see what he is interested in and then talk/sign/fingerspell about what you’ve discovered.

  • Be careful…don’t become a “label maker” by naming everything in baby’s environment with one word. Try using short sentences instead.

  • If your child is not learning and communicating at the same rate as other children, contact Babies Can’t Wait, Georgia PINES, your local school system for children age 3 and above, or Georgia Mobile Audiology for resources.
