Sing!

How does singing improve Language and Literacy skills?

Think about it

Why is singing important for children?

How can I sing to my deaf or hard of hearing child?

Do you really want ME to sing?

Those who wish to sing always find a song swedish proverb

Babies love songs that they can see and hear…familiar songs and made up songs! You can sing using your voice or your hands (sign language). Singing increases your baby’s memory and helps with reading and math skills.

Here is what you can do

  • Don’t worry about your voice. Your baby loves to hear and see you sing.

  • Sing songs you know.

  • Make up a song about your baby’s day using a familiar tune.

  • Check out these songs in American Sign Language (ASL).

  • If your child is not learning and communicating at the same rate as other children, contact Babies Can’t Wait, Ga. PINES, your local school system for children over 3 years old, or Georgia Mobile Audiology for resources.
